The Firm has a formal affiliation and works closely with Kaufman Entertainment Law Group, a group of three other attorneys with extensive in-house and private practice experience. Our senior Counsel, Michael (“Mikey”) Glazer has fifteen plus years experience on the ground working with leading production companies prior to earning his law degree. Larry and Mikey’s production experience provides our clients the unique services of those who have “been there and done that” and who fully understand the practical and business needs of our clients when applying the necessary legal elements to their deals.
Additionally, UNLIKE MOST LARGE FIRMS, WE DO NOT DOUBLE BILL FOR A SENIOR PARTNER TO MERELY REVIEW THE JUNIOR ATTORNEY’S WORK, although Larry Verbit, if not primary, will always be hands-on with your project. HOWEVER, UNLIKE LARGER FIRMS, WE DO NOT DOUBLE BILL FOR A SENIOR ATTORNEY’S TIME REVIEWING THE JUNIOR ATTORNEY’S WORK…YOU ONLY ARE BILLED FOR THE SINGLE PERSON’S WORK, NOT FOR THE PARTNER’S TIME CONFIRMING AND REVIEWING THE WORK OF OTHER TEAM MEMBERS.
We also have relationships with numerous other attorneys, paralegals and firms that concentrate on various legal specialties on an as needed basis. These other attorneys are on-call for immediate entertainment transactional and production work, as well as in connection with litigation. For example, we were previously engaged for a television series requiring an attorney to travel around the world with the production. Within three hours we had three attorneys from which to choose, ready to embark on this project, and each with more than fifteen years experience.

Larry Verbit spent more than 11 years as in-house counsel. During that time he gained an expertise in managing outside counsel for cost effectiveness. Unlike many firms we do not bill for the same work. Thus, if one of our colleagues prepares the work we will make sure they render services in a given time frame and we do not bill for multiple attorneys on the same project.
Our colleagues generally have approximately fifteen years of experience so you are not tossed off to a junior associate who needs to be monitored by a senior partner who bills for monitoring time.
